Summer-Winter School Programmes

The Institute of Objective Studies (IOS) Summer-Winter School Programme in Islamic Studies is being started with a view to imparting basic but deep knowledge to the college/university students pursuing courses in social sciences, humanities, education, Islamic studies, law, and management, and who are interested in developing their knowledge and expertise. These students/scholars are a very bright section of the young generation with potentials to become leaders and decision-makers in their respective fields. This programme is intended to broaden and develop young scholars into becoming effective contributors to the betterment of their societies and cognizant of and sensitive to the needs of humanity and large ensuring peace, mutual respect, better understanding of, an cooperation between various faiths and cultures. It is, therefore, very necessary to acquaint them with the fundamental teachings of Islam as well as the great role that Islam played in the making of global human civilisation.

The above topics have been selected keeping in mind the special target students and teach them how Islam is relevant, and can become the major player in the world we are living in. The focus is on being relevant, both religiously and professionally.

Objectives

 To equip the target students with basic and deep knowledge about Islam as faith and source of global Islamic civilization;

 To educate about the Islamic worldview and how Islamic Sciences, Quran, Hadith and Fiqh developed;

 To enable students understand and analyse the Muslim contribution to world human civilisation and how Islamic intellectual renaissance is possible;

 To prepare students how to cope with the challenges of modernity and Westernisation from an Islamic perspective;

 To equip students with the Islamic knowledge to live and succeed in the globalised world as follower and torch-bearer of Islam.

 Registration

 70 % Attendance is must throughout the programme for obtaining E-Certificates of participation, upon completion, from the organisers.

 Medium of Language: English and Urdu
