The Institute of Objective Studies in collaboration with the Indo-Arab Economic Cooperation Forum created a record sorts by launching the India Islamic Index on June 25 in New Delhi.

The Index was launched with the technical support of Eastwind Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd. financial consultants by Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dixit in the presence of a sizeable number of dignitaries, financial experts and media persons.

New Delhi, June 14: Interest free banking in India is a viable proposition as it would enable a sizeable section of Muslim society to interact with and benefit from the banking system in the county.

Former chairman of Security & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Mr D. R. Mehta expressed the view at a one day seminar on "Emergence of Ethical Investment: Issues and Practices" at India Islamic Cultural Centre here today. The seminar was organised by the Institute of Objective Studies in collaboration with the Indo-Arab Economic Co-operation Forum.
