Babri Mosque or
Rama
Janam Temple: By Dr R L Shukla The centenarian controversy about the Birth Place of Rama, a revered personality of post-Vedic Aryan literature, has recently taken an explosive turn. Apart from creating an unprecedented communal tension in the north part of independent India the situation has raised a number of mythological ,historical, archaeological and legal issues. However an overt communal approach of both politicians and the national press, obliging flatly a certain section of our country has thrown such revealing facts into oblivion which could have rather settled the controversy once for all. As a result the unfortunate decision of the District Judge of Faizabad on 31 Jan 1986 is mainly encashed by the fascist and communal organisations working as a destabilisation force to genuine democratic processes in the country and to heavily fish in trouble waters. This badly shook the confidence of Indian minorities on the constitutional safeguards, Indian judiciary and media. This rendering, a compilation of two articles, by Mrs. Nilofar Ahmed and Dr. R.L.Shukla of Delhi university ,is surely meant mythological and legal facts about the Birth Place of Rama. Most of these facts are ignored during the debate on the issue |
